* Investment opportunity to build Ice Factory in Basra: The Iraqi General State Company of Ports announces the availability of Ice Factory investment in Al Ma'kel area which falls under the company's property. The investment opportunity was officially submitted by the state company to BIC which is setting the preparations to receive investors interested in this project with BIC's full commitment to facilitate all the procedures for the investor. Taking into consideration that the factory belongs to the State Company of Iraqi Ports which emphasizes that investors have to respect the following points: 1- Maintaining and fixing the 2 Ammonia compressors, 30 tons of size .In case of inability to fix it due to lack of spare parts ,one of these compressor or if necessary both of them should be replaced according to what is available in the local markets. 2- Maintaining and fixing the electric engines related to these Ammonia compressors (engine size 100 HP)/2 and repairing the electric units (Operators) related to these 2 engines. 3- Supply and install Ammonia compressor with the specified engines and the electric unit specified (Operator) related to the engine so that rehabilitate the Ice storing room and making all the maintenance to the pipes system inside these rooms. 4-Maintaing and fixing the main lifter specified to lift Ice casts with all the related necessary electrical connections to operate it. 5- (A) Supply and install the salt liquid rotation engine with all the attachments related to it. (B) Maintaining and fixing the current salt liquid rotation engine to be used when necessary. 6- Supply one thousand Ice Casts. 7-Maintaining the icing pool and replacing the inner cover made from galvanized plate fits with the same old size according to the advices of the specialized engineer. 8-Maintainiong the wooden covers of the pool and replacing the damaged ones and painting it with the appropriate paints. 9-Supplying cover made of thick cloth which fits with the pool area. 10-Supplying materials and connecting the cold water pipe system of the pool in a size that fits with the Ammonia compressor size. 11-Supplying new gas condensers (cascades) and canceling the old ones, these new condensers should be of local made which is compatible with the assets size and work environments with all the necessary connections, pipes and electricity to connect the condenser with the system. 12-Supply, install and connecting a complete Iraqi water desalination station with the capacity of (100) m³ per day. 13- Supply, install and connect electric generator of 500 KVA with trade mark of Doez, Kiminz or Berkins. 14- Supply, install and connect water pump (4x4 knots)/2 and (2x2 knots)/1 to get the water to the factory and the ramifications inside the factory with all electric connections and the specified operators for the operation. 15- Supply, install and connect water tanks of (7 Tons) and (2 Tons) to store water and fuel as well as removing the old damaged tanks. 16-Supplying illumination lights to the whole factory (Mercurial and Neon) according to the need with all the necessary electric connections. 17-Fixing all doors and windows ,painting the building, renovating what is damaged of it and building workers and the administration room (4x4) size under the supervision of the company's engineer. 18- The factory then must be retrieved to the company after the end of the investment period provided that the factory will be functioning with its full production capacity.
2-An Opportunity to Invest a Project for the Production of Brines and Salt
The state company for the extractive industries and waterproofing offers the opportunity to establish the project for the production of brines and salt in addition to the rehabilitation of the Magnesium Oxide Project.
The project aims at producing Calcium Chloride with specialized industrial uses, especially in the suppression of the oil wells to the production of table salt containing iodine and to take advantage of the sea water.
The project is located in Abu Al Kaseeb district 13 Km away from the city center, the estimated total area of the factory is 4 Km².
Moreover, the design capacity of the project must not be less than 2400 tons a year for the Calcium Chloride and the Magnesium Oxide Project while the production of Sodium Chloride must not be less than 30000 tons a year.
Such type of industry %100 depends on the raw materials as these materials are being made by the companies affiliated to the ministry of industry and minerals ,there is also export potentials as the product prices are linked to the technical specifications in terms of the required purity.
