UAE Company Proposing Inland Containers Depot Project Print E-mail

The UAE (Gulf Tainer) Company proposed to establish a strategic Inland Container Depot in Basrah.

 

  

Mr. Ibrahem Sarhan, the business development manager of the company said"the project is to establish Inland Container Depot which will back up the Iraqi seaports that would be stuffed in goods in the next years especially knowing that imports coming from the middle east  and other companies .Therefore, it is important to have such a project of stores  to absorb the influx of the imports in a time when there is huge trading activities and for this reason it is called Inland Container Depot .Mr. Ibrahem also added "the project will make jobs available for the local workers in Iraq ,so many shipments come from China to Um Quasir Port  that can be stored in the Inland Depot then transported to other places in Iraq , Syria and the Mediterranean sea. He also explained that the area required for this project is 200 Dunums and to be close to the high ways to facilitate the transportations, also if possibly near the oil companies to store oil stuff".
