Basra International Airport Announces an Opportunity to Construct the First Refinery for Aviation Fuel in the Province Basra international airport declares the provision of an idea to construct a refinery for aviation fuel in Al-Basra province because of its unavailability in the province and the dire need of this product to the airport where all the consumed amount of this fuel comes from Al-Dura refinery in Baghdad and there is no imported fuel and the consumed quantities hovering between 200 to 500 thousand liters in every month according to the number of flights where the consumed fuel quantities increase proportional to the number of flights. Basra investment commission is poised to receive the requests for this project from different companies at BIC office (Al-Basra, Al-Tuwaisa, Olympic Committee Street). 4. Investment Opportunity to establish Two Gas-operated Electrical Power Plants BIC announces the availability of establishing two Gas-operated Electricity Power Plants in Basra. As the following: The First:- Location: lies on the way between Basra and Al-Shu'aiba. Power: 125 x 10 = 1250 MW. Area: 440 Dunums. Power source: Al Basra Refinery of Shu'aiba, 12 Km away. Nearest linking point: Basra Power Station 400 KV as well as the same established plant. Distance away from the city center: 10 Km. Nearest power source: Al Basra River, 500 meters distance. The Second: Location: Lies between Al Zubair district and Northern Rumaila. Power: 270 x 5 = 1350 MW. Area: 345 Dunums. Power source: West of Al Qurna Gas Line and continued along the station. Nearest linking point: New Rumaila Transformation Planet 9 Km away and (Khour Al Zuabir-Nassiriya) line 20 Km away. Distance away from the city center: 20 Km. Nearest power source: Al Basra River 3 Km away.
